Software development and integration

Phoops’ workflow includes predetermined steps from strategy formulation to customers’ communication, from design to development and integration of highly scalable and high-profile digital solutions. We deliver different types of web-based systems. We create web-applications based on a multi-layered service-oriented structure.

This allows customers to plug in new data channels to replace different layers without any impact for the rest of the system (System as a Service logic). We offer different backend architectures that handle a high volume of data while providing live streaming. The backend services are developed using Golang or the Spring Boot framework in a reliable and rapid way.

Phoops has experience in the delivery of different types of web-based systems. We create web-applications based on a multi-layered service-oriented structure. This allows customers to plug in new data channels to replace different layers without any impact for the rest of the system, following the System as a Service logic.

Advanced service development

Phoops offers also various types of backend architectures forming complex infrastructures that are able to handle high volume of data while providing live streaming. For this purpose we rely on the Apache Kafka framework and the Event Sourcing pattern. The backend services are developed using Golang or the Spring Boot framework in a reliable and rapid way.

UI / UX

Our principle is to provide a visualisation of the results since the beginning of the development process. This allows avoiding mistakes and improving technical decisions. Furthermore, our philosophy is to develop a UI before the beginning of the development phase due to the interaction between our products and the final users.

Wireframing and Prototyping

We create interactive wireframes and “clickthrough prototypes” to get a feel for the system, receive feedback, validate the effectiveness of interaction and test different interface ideas and usage scenarios. The behaviour, the main workflows and look-and-feel of the system are defined upon implementation. Consequently, no extra costs are involved to re-deisgn or re-implement features and processes.

UX design

We design every software system to solve users’ peculiar problems. The main objective is to let the user accomplish her task performing the minimum amount of actions. This way of working allows us to prevent errors and protect our users from their consequences. Following a step-by-step methodology, our interection designer conducts analyses of users’ behaviour, based on particular use cases, and then paves the most optimal ways to interact with the system.

Good-looking and clean user-interfaces are of core importance for the final users since they allow the effective workflows and the usability of the chosen solutions. We always keep up with the latest design trends and best practices applying them to our work.

Research And Development

Our research and development unit centres its work on the development of machine learning, deep learning analysis and the development of predictive system based on artificial intelligence (AI). Furthermore, we are interested in the business of data storage, management, processing and visualization. The R&D unit uses data concerning different topics from healthcare sectors to urban mobility and industrial sectors.

Machine Learning

We apply machine learning methods to make real-time data-driven decisions according to our customers’ needs. The main objective of our machine learning researches is to easily face and solve multidimensional problems that overcome human brain capacity. Our machine learning techniques allows us to identify latent structures in heterogeneous data, revealing new insights and make accurate predictions. Furthermore, machine learning algorithms can contextualize information contained in huge dataset. Relying on machine learning our customers can optimize information-centric business processes, customize the solutions they propose to customers, implement productivity, forecast demand and many more. We rely on both supervised and unsupervised methods of machine learning. Some examples of the supervised methods relates to the creation of ad hoc anti-spam filters while an example of unsupervised machine learning techniques is clustering analysis (e.g.: identification of similar clusters of data within a dataset).

Our data-storage ability has a high fault-tolerance capacity, furthermore it allows a fast response in time providing an high-speed analytics capacity.

We process raw data that we save in our storage and transform them into useful information for our customers. After a raw data pre-processing phase, we analyse the results using machine learning techniques. Doing that we are able to elaborate meaningful insights. Similarly, we process real-time streams using advanced analysis frameworks that enable us to handle huge quantities of data.

The process of data visualization is of core importance for nowadays business. Using charts and interactive graphics help our customers with compelling tools enhancing the power of analytics. The process of data-visualization is fundamental to provide our customers with quick and reliable insights about their business. We rely on several instrument of data-visualization departing from visual summaries but adopting a drill-down analysis principle. In other words, our objective is to start from a summary vision of data insights allowing our users to filter data insights to get into the details of the desired indicators. We provide our users with the possibility to observe their data through trends, relations and non-statistical visualization. Furthermore, thanks to personalized dashboards and mobile applications, the data visualization phase can be checked in real-time.

Health analysis

Our R&D section relies on data deriving from the healthcare sector evaluating the condition of the healthcare job’s organization. This is done following the principle of virtual ergonomics allowing cost reduction through the improvement and potential modification of the healthcare system’s organization. The UbeRisk integrated software system is developed by Phoops in this optic.

Mobility analysis

Our Mobility as a Service (MaaS) product, MUV-App, allows us to store, process analyze and visualize data concerning urban mobility. Thanks to the collected data we are able to offer to Public Administrators or mobility managers personalized visual instruments (dashboard) that help the identifying crisis situations, formulate new or ad hoc policy proposals finally favouring the development of best practices in the urban mobility management.

Sentiments of peoples in many different fields are nowadays vital for business development. Our R&D Section uses natural language processing to mine people’s sentiments providing better insights into users’ needs and wants. At Phoops we achieve our highest performance in the framework of urban mobility managing thanks to the city-zen module of the MUV-APP.
